that may be in California, I don't know, but I've talked to teachers who feel that dumbing down the testing is the answer, and they don't want children damaged psychologically by failing tests. I told them that was absurd! Kids need to learn what it's like to fail, as well as succeed, it's a part of life. They didn't like my attitude in the least! Needless to say, I haven't spoken to them in a couple of years. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of tom hawkins Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2005 6:27 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: OT: Learning Braille Hi Gail, It's not the teachers. It's the parents that dictate through their school boards and in the case of California the state legislature. Parents would not accept their darlings failure And the truth of the matter is that while one system will work for one it will not work for another, no matter the system.! Tom Hawkins P. S.
