Hey Dena and Cindy,

Thanks for reminding me of that position, I will be applying there, and 
anywhere else, smile, that I can apply to, and will see who bites, smile, 
and if I can live in the areas that are hiring.

Even if it is in the south or southwest, smile, as a lot of the jobs are.

I do not like humidity and extremely hot weather and neither does my dog. 
But we can adapt right, with a place that actually has air conditioning as a 
necessity and not a "luxury" smile.

I have friends near Paulo Alto, but would of course love any comments on the 
area, I am still applying and who knows.

Maybe you all will convert me to be a California girl, would make being near 
GDB a lot easier in case I need anything, and it is a nice area, accessible 
if I am not mistaken by Cal Train and the like.



But we shall send them everywhere.

Position Title:  Itinerant Rehabilitation Teacher
Status:  Salaried Exempt
Department: Program Services
Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation Services
Overall Responsibility:
The incumbent will travel throughout a wide geographic area offering
independent
living skills instruction to adults who are blind and visually impaired so
they may
function at a level which will result in an independent lifestyle.  The
Teacher is
responsible for the successful rehabilitation program to enable an
individual to
remain independent in their home environment, possible movement into a
Rehabilitation Center
 or to vocational placement.  Incumbent must be able to provide their own
transportation
to various client sites.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of Bachelor?s degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, Education or
other
related field.
Required Skills and Abilities:
·        Effective listening skills
·        Ability to get along with others
·        Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of the Itinerant Rehabilitation Teacher consist

of, but are not limited to, the following:

Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, including personal and home management,
communication
skills
·
Developing individualized plans in conjunction with the client to meet
lifelong goals.

Instruct individuals and small groups in food preparation, budgeting, money
management,
understanding prescribed diets, diabetes management, house cleaning,
clothing care
and identification, personal grooming, sewing, eating skills, business
etiquette,
and leisure activities
·
Conduct instruction in personal communication skills, as appropriate for the
client?s
needs, including handwriting and signature, Braille, telephone dialing,
reading using
low vision adaptive devices, and use of audio devices
·
Emphasizes the effective use of any residual vision, tactile and other
sensory modalities,
and reinforce learning associated with other areas of instruction
·
Ability to accurately maintain case management files and case reporting
·
Maintains list of community resources to make appropriate referrals as
needed
·        Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Position Title:  Adjustment Counselor

Reports To:       Director of Rehabilitation Services
This position provides counseling services through individual and group
sessions
to assist individuals who are blind or visually impaired deal with the loss
of vision.
The Adjustment Counselor conducts tours and provides intake services to
individuals
seeking information and/or entering programming at the center based
rehabilitation
program.  The Counselor is responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary
team
in providing services to individuals who are blind or visually impaired,
participates
in client conferences, makes referrals for additional services, provides
minimal
case management for individuals being served and provides education to the
community
about blindness.
Education and Experience:
The Adjustment Counseling position requires a minimum of a Master?s Degree
in social
work, psychology, or counseling and at least three years of work experience
in the
field of blindness and visual impairment.  A minimum of 2 years providing
individual
and group therapy is required.
Required Skills:
The Adjustment Counselor must possess effective listening skills, strong
oral and
written communication skills and excellent problem solving skills, along
with the
ability to work in a team-oriented environment.  This position requires
strong leadership
skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and a commitment to improve the
quality
of the lives of blind, visually impaired and disabled individuals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists consumers in resolving personal issues through counseling, conflict
management,
and mediation
·
Designs counseling programs and/or groups based on the needs of  program
participants
·        Reports counseling service activity monthly to management
·
Keeps records and writes reports evaluating counseling activities
·
Maintains a cooperative relationship with community partners such as
residential
providers, families and other service agencies
·
Provides education regarding blindness to various organizations throughout
the community
·
Serves as a representative of Bosma at community functions
·        Attends staff meetings and all Bosma functions
·        Performs other duties as assigned
Leadership:
-  Collaborates with other staff on pertinent issues affecting the
organization
-  Initiates opportunities to market Bosma Industries? programs and services
   in the community at large
-  Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner that
denotes a
