Monica, if I can find these in my local library, I'll be glad to do it, but my question to the group was this. I have several books waiting to be approved that I have uploaded to book share. If you or anyone has books waiting to be approved, I would be glad to work on getting those approved for you, if someone will work on getting mine approved. I figured it might speed up books getting books approved. would this be ethical to do? There have been some fine suggestions for books you might like scanning. I'd like to offer 2 more from the mystery genre. Edward D. Hoch is a well-known master of mystery short stories with ingenious plots. He has had hundreds of stories published in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, and yet he is not represented in either Bookshare or NLS collections. I'd like to suggest 2 of his books for your consideration. Diagnosis: Impossible--The Problems of Dr. Sam Hawthorne, by Edward D. Hoch features short stories set in the 1930s and 1940s. Sam is a doctor serving a mostly rural community with a small town at its center. The sheriff often turns to Sam when a local mystery just can't be solved. Sam is my favorite of Hoch's many series slueths, and I enjoy the historical setting and context in these stories. The Velvet Touch, by Edward D. Hoch, is a collection of short stories about Nick Velvet. Nick is a professional thief with some scruples. He won't steal anything of monetary value and won't do anything to physically harm anyone. Nick has a talent for solving crimes including locked room murders and cases that seem completely impossible to solve. "Don't let yesterday use up too much of today!"
