MessageWell, I will get it rejected so I can submit the cleanre copy.

Yes, we used MS Word. You have to turn on some special character display
options. It doesn't work in Jaws 10 though. They broke that part of Jaws. I
have reported it so maybe they will get it fixed again. I'll go through the
options settings and then email them to you. It will probably be sometime
tomorrow though since I have an appointment to go to this evening.

Thanks.

I just looked and it's back on step one. I think you have to take back the
submission and resubmit the cleaner copy, or something like that.

Did you use Word to see about the page breaks, etc, and if so, how'd you do
it?

  Cait

  Hi Caitlyn,

Ok, it looks like the file does indeed have far too many breaks in it. I
have fixed part of the problem. My wife is fixing the rest. Please just
reject it and I will resubmit with a cleaner copy.

  Thanks.

    Dan,

The note I got from the bookshare staff said that they have returned the
book to you for more editing.

It was weird, because I also didn't notice all those extra things.
Honestly, it looked great to me while I was checking it.

    Confused,
    Caitlyn

    Hi Caitlyn,

Ok, I will have my wife look at the book and make sure how many numberdd
and unnumbered pages that one has.

This is really strange. I looked at that one and didn't see all those
extra sections and page breaks before I uploaded it. Strange.

Another thing you can do is just reject it and we will fix it and resubmit
it.

Let me know which you want to do.

    Thanks.

Ok, this is probably a pretty simple thing, but I'm wondering how we're
supposed to know how many page breaks, etc, a given book should have.. If
we're lucky, the submitter actually tells us how many pages the book should
have(thanks, Shelly R.)!, but otherwise, how do we know?

I just validate, or tried to validate, the hiking merit badge booklet,
and it honestly looked fine to me, but I just got a message from bookshare
support saying that it had 210 page breaks and about a hundred and something
soft page breaks. The book had 79 pages. I use both K1000 and Word(office xp
version) for validating.. I want this to not be a problem in the future, so
what do I do from now on?

      Thanks,
      Caitlyn
