Lisa; I wish I felt up to big projects, but they are just not in my wheelhouse. I am really enjoying the new Optic Book 3900 scanner that is both Mac and PC compatible. ABBYY FineReader Pro is finally making a functional scanning program for the Mac, albeit not quite as advanced as the PC version. I was thinking you are blind, though, and I am not sure how well it works with voiceover since I am sighted. If I can help with pointers, though, let me know. For all the people wanting to scan on an Optic Book scanner on a Mac, I cannot recommend the 3900 highly enough. The best part for me is that the lid can lift off so that you can work in tight spaces. I was able to get it for $300 shipped from Adorama which I thought was worth it for a new product from a trusted company.
