Jim,

Not Cindy, but don't worry about it. When I first started validating,
Shelley told me I should start with easy ones, and all of us have released
books back to Step 1 at some point. (smile)

Cindy, I'll try a book that looks good and download it and give it a shot,
but this one scared me a little. I don't want to do a bad job of my first
validation. Smile.

It really isn't so hard. Check the list, find a title
that interests you, read the synopsis to be sure it
interests you, see if the rating is Excellent, and
then download and try reading it. Sometimes the rating
is accurate and sometimes not. I don't know who the
scanners are who submit really clean books because I
usually take ones that have problems, and though
theyhave been named here, I've forgotten most of them
except for Kenneth Cross. I understand his submissions
are perfect, but they tend to be nonfiction, as far as
I know. His submission of the biography of F. Scott
Fitzgerald is near the bottom of the download list; he
submitted it in November, but I guess not too many
people are interested in reading it. I haven't looked
at it so I don't know if it's nicely readable to a lay
person or if it's pedantic.

I wish you'd been around when all the books about
music and jazz were on the list. You'd probably have
enjoyed Ray more than I did. smile
