Dan,

You don't have to verify the copyright through copyright.gov. It's helpful
when you have one where the copyright holder isn't the author, but it's not
necessary, even in that situation. If you feel you need to provide some
proof that the copyright is filled in properly, then copy the notice from
the scan into the comments with a note that the notice came from the
copyright page in the scan.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Epicenter by Joel C. Rosenberg - copyright issue

Ok, I have this one ready to go except for verifying the copyright in the
copyright site. I tried to do just that and can not find this book at all.
I have tried searching by author, title, claiment and ISBN.

How do we handle a book that has the copyright in the book but it can't be
found on the governments copyright site?

Thanks.
