Once you use the pass word to unzip the book it is as sharable as one that has not been opened with a password anyway.

I thought the original idea for passwords to books was to keep bookshare members from sharing books with nonbookshare members. Does this mean that bookshare finally trusts us? Na, it's gotta be something else.

    Hi Kim,
Yes, the only time you will need to type a password from here on
is when you log into the Bookshare web site.
I didn't ask why the change to not requiring passwords to open zip
files was made, so don't know. Sorry.

Hi, Mayrie, this is news to me. So the only time we need a
password is when the Bookshare site requires our email address and
password? Write me back and confirm please. I can't say this
boggles the mind but it does seem to mean one step less to do.
Just out of curiosity, what made the gurus on Bookshare decide we
needn't put in passwords for opening the files? If you don't know,
don't worry about it. The last question is just curiosity as I
said. I was just wondering out loud. Have a great week. Regards,
    Kim Friedman.

    Hi Everyone,
There is no longer a password needed to open any zip file
downloaded from Bookshare. That changed midweek this past week.

I'm not sure when the last time you tried it was, but I just
finished downloading two of them, both when logged into my own
account, and while logged out using a public domain book. Both
times, it worked fine, though interestingly, I didn't have to type
my password when opening the BRF downloaded from my own account.
Maybe it's because I went into my book history, and downloaded the
most recent book? That shouldn't have any effect on the password,
    but I'm not sure...

I can’t download any brf files, starting yesterday. Is this part
