If the book on bookshare was in excellent shape I, for one, am sorry you
took the time to re-scan it and someone will have to validate it when there
are so many non-scanned books not available now on bookshare. How bad
really is the copy now on the system?

Even though the book is already on bookshare, this copy was slightly better than the one in the collection. Outside removing the headers, the person scan the end of the book twice, from page 622, it was at the end of the last page so took them out. On this computer still have version 9 while the one downstairs has version 10.
