Hi all,

Yep, this is correct: Book titles should be 20 point and bold on the title
page. Author’s names should NOT be bolded and should be kept at 12 point.
Sections, books, or parts, such as the kind William mentioned should be 18
point and bold, etc.

Thanks everyone for asking good questions and making Bookshare’s books so great!

LOL! Thank you Valerie, for the wink and nod. I'd do it the same way you're
listing here. We'll of course leave it to Madeleine to be the real source on
what Bookshare currently requires. grin.

As a general rule, the book's title is the only thing that should be bold and
20 point in a book. Additionally, it should be bold and 20 point at one place
only in a book: on the book's title page. At least that's my current
understanding.

When you get into an omnibus, it's the title of the omnibus on the title page
that would be bold and 20 points. 18 point is for sections, books, or parts
within a volume. I'd do it as Valerie says: Book 1 would be 18 point and bold,
and so forth.

Valerie, have you ever seen a volume/omnibus book that contained multiple isbns
for separate books within it? That's a new one on me. I haven't seen it done
that way. Given that I've only ever seen a miniscule fraction of all the ways
publishers put out books, it wouldn't surprise me, though.

All of this is still clear as mud, right?! smile.

Great point, Susan! I think it all depends on if there is a title that covers
all three, such as Trilogy of the Vampires, and then the three books are
enclosed within, in which case the page that has “Trilogy of the Vampires”
would be in 20 point bold and then “Book 1” would be considered a section break
and be 18 point bold, unless it was a more specific title such as a title of a
book with its own ISBN number in which case each of them would then have the
first title page instance of “Book X” in 20 point bold.

Probably as clear as mud… Wink. I’m sure Madeleine or Judy or someone else will
correct me if I am misinterpreting or sharing incorrect information.

Aren't titles supposed to be done in 20 point rather than 18? Here's something
I recently recved from Bookshare staff.

In the future, please make sure the book’s title is in 20 point font and bolded.
