Are rose breasted nuthatches typically bold? Today, I stood with my head about three feet from, and level with, my hanging sunflower seed feeder and a rbn had no problem landing next to me many times. (Pretty exciting viewpoint since yesterday was my first day to i.d. it.) When I testingly took one itty bitty step closer, though, it proved to be one step too far. Other excitement for me today, (and I hope this is not considered 'feral cat' taboo topic), was rescuing what looked to me like a fledgling mourning dove, directly out of the mouth of my cat. Then out of the mouth of my dog that jumped into the fray. Then out of the mouth of the cat, again! We were all bumbling idiots. After recuperating in safety for about an hour, the bird flew away. Amazing, I think. Susanna Daleure Franklin, Ky ____________________________________________________________________________________ Luggage? GPS? Comic books?
