I've had many bird dreams over the years, but one that stuck out in my mind
was dreaming I drove to Alaska and watched long-tailed ducks on a frozen
foggy bay. When that experience happened in real life it was in Holland,
MI.

Let’s see… my most recent and exciting bird dream was of Marbled Godwits
frolicking in the modestly sized bird bath in my backyard. I offered them
milk and chocolate chip cookies which they gobbled down and “cooed” their
appreciation. In real life I would never pet or approach these magnificent
birds in real life, but this was my dream and I was not bound to standard
birding ethics and practices. I pet them, cleaned their bills, and invited
them to stay and make a home. They agreed and raised many small offspring
who ate all the cookies I could bake.
No, I was not under the influence of any substance legal or otherwise…
just a vivid imagination fueled by my love of birds.
