A first for me after a couple of decades in our home here--six quail wandering
around the yard and under the spruce trees this morning. Another first was the
Cooper's Hawk that flew in at an angle outside their view and hid behind a tall
clump of monkey grass within five feet of them, until I opened the door and
ended his breakfast hopes.
