The KentuckyOrnithological Society's Virginia andWendell Kingsolver Scholarship
is available to a young birder between the ages of 13 and 18 who lives in
Kentucky. The scholarship pays tuition to attend a week-long American Birding
Association Camp in either Colorado or Delaware this summer.
Details about the scholarshipand the ABA camps can be found on the KOS website
here and the ABA website here. The scholarship covers all expenses for the
week-long camp, however travel to Colorado or Delaware will be the recipient's
responsibility.
The deadline to apply is May 1, 2015. Last year, KOS sent two students to camp
and it was a life-changing experience for both. If you know of a boy or girl
with an interest in birds and ornithology who is mature enough to travel to
Colorado or Delaware on his/her own, please encourage them to apply before May
1, 2015. Attendingthis camp could be just the spark needed to turn their
interest into a passionor even a career. It will most certainly be a memorable
