I spent 3 hours at West KY WMA early this morning and can only hope for these same birding conditions in another week or so. It was gorgeous and dead calm. Turkeys are gobbling everywhere. Tallied 70 species of which the highlights are: Great crested fly 3 Fish crow 10 House wren 3 Sedge wren 1 Ruby-cr king. 8 Swainson's Thrush 8 Wood Thrush 4 Catbird 2 White-eyed V. 5 Solitary V. 8 Yel-th V. 8 Warbling V. 3 Red-eyed V. 6 Blue-w Warbler 1 Nashville Warbler 10 + No. Parula 6+ Chestnut s. Warbler 1 Black-thr. Green 4 Yel-rumped 50 + Palm Warbler 1 Blk-and-wht Warbler 1 Prothonotary Warbler 2 Ovenbird 2 Yellowthroat 8 Yel-breasted Chat 2 Summer Tanager 4 Blue Grosbeak 1 Lincoln's Sparrow 1 The Spotted Towhee was not seen today and I have not found it since the 17th of April.
