Dr. George Lowery has a photo of a trap he used to trap chimney swifts
coming out of their night time roost. It's in his book "Louisiana Birds."

They banded them in the spring and fall. The birds roamed as far north
as New Brunswick.

Dr. Lowery was very kind helping me get started in birding in the
sixties before the internet. We communicated by phone and snail mail
and he let me roam the skins in the LSU museum collection.
