Following Brainard's post last week about Swainson's warbler at the Gorge, I decided to head down there last Saturday. The first bird I saw that morning about 100 feet past the shelter on Hood's Branch Trail was a Swainson's warbler! A lifer for me and not because I hadn't looked for them many times before. I then proceeded to Rock Bridge Trail and took the spur along Swift Camp Creek. Heard one across the creek at the "Old Logging Dam" sign, waded across, and saw another one!! Also saw many hoodeds (more common than titmice and chickadees), black-throated greens, black and whites, and blue-headed vireos. What a great day and thanks a lot Brainard! Ryan Slack Georgetown, KY
