KOS would like your help in finding a Kentucky student who is interested in birds and who might want to attend an American Birding Association camp this summer. The Kentucky Ornithological Society (KOS) has established a scholarship to honor Virginia and Wendell Kingsolver for their service to KOS and birding and their commitment to encouraging young people to learn about and appreciate the natural world. Details about the scholarship and the ABA camps can be found on the KOS website (http://biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm ). The scholarship is open to students between the ages of 13 and 18 who live in Kentucky. In 2014, one student will be chosen to attend a week-long ABA camp in either Colorado or Delaware. The scholarship will cover all expenses for the week-long camp, however travel to Colorado or Delaware will be the recipient's responsibility. If you know of a boy or girl with an interest in birds and ornithology who is mature enough to travel to Colorado or Delaware on his/her own, please encourage them to apply before May 15, 2014. Attending this camp could be just the spark needed to turn their interest into a passion or even a career. It will most certainly be a memorable experience. If you have questions after reading the application, please contact me at this email address. Thank you, Carol Besse Kentucky Ornithological Society
