Late this summer and early fall we have had a nice group of Wild Turkeys
hanging around the cluster of family homes on the farm here in Jefferson
County. My cousin got the linked video pasted below of the group out his back
door yesterday morning. (Be sure to maximize to full screen to see it better).
Interesting thing about the video is how the group "rushes" the Turkey Vulture
that lands nearby (I guess the TUVU, which has always been purported to have
better smell than sight) thought they were other vultures on a carcass?; then
some seconds later a Buteo (probably a juvie Red-shouldered Hawk that's been
around) lands on my cousin's brick grill on the right side of the frame and
some of the turkeys run over to it. Crazy birds!
