Returned briefly to waterfront in downtown Louisville this evening. Conditions weren't great; rain made it pretty hard to see. Quite a few ducks though, probably over 300. Seemed like mostly scaup and bufflehead with a few canvasback and goldeneye but most were on the opposite side of railroad bridge and too far to ID. Fewer numbers of gulls compared to last several days and I didn't see any of the recent rarities, but I gave up pretty early. Also, the gulls seemed to be hanging out further downstream, close to railroad bridge. I did see two common mergansers (finally!) and fairly certain there were two white-winged scoters on the south side of Shippingport island.
