Ellis Laudermilk and I made a quick run up to Lake Carnico near Carlisle in
Nicholas County late this afternoon. List of waterbirds:
Canada Goose 3
Mallard 2
Ring-necked Duck 10
Lesser Scaup 7
Red-breasted Merganser 7
Horned Grebe 1 (well into alternate plumage already)
Red-necked Grebe 2
American Coot 4
