Spent a couple hours this evening viewing the evening flight of gulls in the Louisville area. Barbara Woerner was scoping the river when I arrived at 8th Street parking lot area. Probably 250+ gulls were in center of river, mostly ring-billed gulls and some herring gulls. At 6:45 PM another large flock of gulls came in to roost. We were able to identify one adult Lesser Black-backed Gull and one Glaucous Gull. Two White-winged Scoters were observed. Earlier in the day I observed one adult Surf Scoter from Ashland Park. Received a call from the Becker's reporting the Red-throated Loon at Jeff Overlook......didn't get there quick enough, ran out of daylight.
