This morning I finally had an opportunity to get out for awhile on our family
farm. I was pleased to hear a Connecticut Warbler singing not soon after
setting out. Mark Monroe came over awhile later and we returned to where the
Connecticut had been singing. We pished and up popped an oliveish warbler, but
it was a male Mourning! Also had lots of American Redstarts and Red-eyed
Vireos. A few Maggies, a Chestnut-sided, a tardy migrant Hooded, and a female
Cerulean rounded out a nice list of migrant warblers. Other migrants of
interest included a Henslow's Sparrow singing in one of the hayfields and a
single Bobolink.
