Awhile ago I heard an American Tree Sparrow over by the sheds while feeding the
cows. I haven't had one on the farm all winter. Then, when I got home there was
already one at the feeding station! I'm always astonished how quickly a winter
storm north of us will cause them to show up locally.
Also present the past couple of days have been a Brown Thrasher and a Fox
Sparrow. I was also inundated with nearly 100 blackbirds on Wednesday, mostly
Rusties. Smaller numbers of Rusties and Red-wingeds were around yesterday. Look
forward to see what else shows up today.
