Had a pretty good feeder watch again with repeats of Pine Siskin and
Red-breasted Nuthatch. Still have a few Rose-breasted Grosbeaks among the giant
ragweeds in the north yard corner.
On our front field circle, I thought I had found an oddity that folks would
want to come and see. Of course I like getting oddities. On the other hand, I’m
currently spending 4 hours of each day stripping tobacco for my nephew. I don’t
mind birders coming to my place unaccompanied, but this oddity was at my middle
pond, requiring a walk through the front cow pasture. I have no problem walking
among my cattle, but Angus cattle fit on a friendliness scale just barely a
click above Bison. They don’t take no guff. I wouldn’t much want anyone walking
to my pond without me along.
As it turned out, my oddity was an Egyptian Goose. Very few have been reported
on iNaturalist in KY, but Brainard says they aren’t countable on eBird. I did
add my pictures to eBird under the header of goose sp. if anyone wants to see
them.
