I was lucky last Thursday, the 7th of November to get a good look at a
rough-legged hawk. It landed on a deer stand in a tree as I was driving back
home in the morning on my country road. I stopped, got out my binocs and when
it flew away from me I could see the white tail. Knew it was different, not a
red-tail but the same relative size.
