In humans, major hydration is the mainstay of treatment. Water can also
carry salmonella. I would empty any recirculating fountain etc and add
some bleach to clean it and leave it dry a few weeks. Perhaps a smaller
water source that can be cleaned w bleach DAILY or eliminate water
altogether. Treated tap water is the safest source.

Salmonella *can* spread to other feeder birds (and humans), but there are
known species of birds with greater susceptibility. Siskins are apparently
just one of the most susceptible.
Also ... a cessation of feeding is not going to make it go away, it just
could help out the situation. As would cleaning feeders and sweeping,
raking, or vacuuming up all of the seed shells beneath feeders.

I understand Pine Siskins feed mostly on thistle seed from special thistle
seed socks? I have not had much success with these thistle seed socks so
have not used for years, plus, thistle seed cost several times more than
cracked corn.
We do occasionally clean our feeders and especially water/ bird baths, but
could do more often.

For anyone will try to decide whether or not to take the safe route and
consider ceasing with bird feeding or a "time out" for the safety of the
siskins ... it may be hard to suddenly quit feeding birds right now, but a
two-week break shouldn't do anything to threaten anyone's back yard birds.
Conditions so far this winter have not been extreme and upcoming forecast
is not for any severe cold or snow.
