A check of the Morgan area in Christian County and the Guthrie area in Todd County yielded the following highlights: MORGAN Wood Duck w/ brood Mallard (several broods) BLUE-WINGED TEAL (Approximately 35 broods with many young approaching adult size. It's nice to see that a good number of the young hatched in Kentucky will apparently survive long enough to fledge.) Ring-necked Duck (female) Ruddy (2 males) Great Egret (5) Great Blue Heron (50+) American Coot (3) Killdeer (~120) BLACK-NECKED STILT (11+ adults with one downy juvenile which was led to the wheat stubble/corn by one parent. The birds are still behaving territorially with distraction displays and incessant proclamation of their disapporval of my presence. It's possible that there may still be other birds incubating or more juvs in the area.) Lesser Yellowlegs (5) Least Tern (4) GUTHRIE/NORTH POOL Great Egret Great Blue Heron (~20) Bald Eagle (adult) Lesser Yellowlegs (2) David L.
