I've seen Mengel recommended on this list serv a number of times as a
continuing good source of info. Maybe it is if you can abide reading gems like
this from the Lapland Longspur account - "In one case I secured a female that
remained, in a manner suggesting distress or concern, near a male I had just
killed."
Almost every species account speaks of collecting - read killing. I don't know
about you but I find it kind of jarring and unpleasant.
