As the coordinator for access to Melco, I have been contemplating some "field
trip" opportunities there but there just hasn't been habitat for shorebirds
(sometimes), interesting birds (typically not), or numerous waterbirds (never)
as of late. Michael's Willet the evening before last was literally the most
interesting thing that has been there all spring and it was not there yesterday
morning (typical for spring).
I'm hoping for habitat to remain and for the number and variety of shorebirds
to increase enough to warrant even impromptu trips out there . . . any such
opportunities will be posted here.

Subject: [birdky] Melco today/tomorrow and question on a hotspot
For the Louisville birders with access, I wanted to see if anyone was going to
Melco today or tomorrow. Please let me know if you are and are willing to let
me tag along.
For the South Beargrass Creek Retention Basin, is there a recommended way to
enter/view this area?
Thanks,
