I was told by a friend at the park this week that the May 1st - mid-Nov
dates are a window for the contractor; it will not be closed that entire
time. His projected closing date is in late May, but he could not be
definite.
If anyone plans to cross the ferry, the easiest thing to do would be to call
their recorded info line at 270-758-2166. I call it every time I venture
down that way.it occasionally closes for unforeseen circumstances.

Subject: Mammoth ferry closing this summer
Note to anyone coming to Mammoth Cave NP.the ferry is closing for major
renovations, between May 1st and mid-November. As I understand it, the road
is going to be recontoured and a canoe launch area is going to be added.
