KY Birders, After my dental appointment in Mt. Vernon, I found a couple singing Baltimore Orioles at the headwaters of Lake Linville this morning. Also at the boat dock there were 8 Blue-winged Teal along with the Coots, C. Geese, Mallards and PB-Grebes. An Osprey made a slow pass (almost kiting) about 50 feet over the waters of the cove but did not make a dive. On the lake I also spotted lots of Tree, NRW, and Barn Swallows as well as one Horned Grebe in almost breeding plumage and another in near winter plumage. A couple of GB-Herons were perched near the rookery across from the marina but I did not see any chicks. Note to self: Never leave home without the "big" camera.
