A few things from my last post with the Limpkin summary:
1) sorry about the formatting; I can never seem to get copied material to
format right.
2) I failed to note that Charlie Crawford's report from Union County involved
*2* individuals (thanks Charlie).
3) RE: the Dix River/Kentucky River reports (#s 8 and 9 on the list) . . . I
agree that these two reports *could* pertain to the same individual, but there
have been so many reports that it is also possible or perhaps even more likely
that it was different birds (birds at nearby locations at Lexington turned out
to be, in part, different individuals). And as a side note . . . the Duck River
(TN) CBC over in west TN (Tennessee River drainage) just tallied *THIRTY-TWO*
individuals on their count a few days ago!!!! . . . so the precedent for
multiple individuals being in close proximity to one another is firmly
established in the region.

This is certainly the most remarkable expansion of a native species *ever*
recorded in our region (I'm not sure how quickly European Starling and House
Sparrow colonized). Well outpaces Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks, Eurasian
Collared-Doves and House Finches (introduced), and breeding Black-necked Stilts.
