WISH we had gone to see the Sharon Grove Limpkin, but we have observed 7 in a
tight nesting group-one adult and 6 chicks at Loxahatchie NWR.

This is certainly the most remarkable expansion of a native species *ever*
recorded in our region (I'm not sure how quickly European Starling and House
Sparrow colonized). Well outpaces Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks, Eurasian
Collared-Doves and House Finches (introduced), and breeding Black-necked Stilts.
