As the Fall Membership Meeting approaches next month, the sense of urgency
is increasing to fill two KOS Councillor roles.
One would be a full three-year term, and the other would be a one-year
backfill term for a Board Member who filled a different Board role.
If you have a little free time, and would like to share your experience and
ideas to help KOS move forward, please consider raising your hand for one
of these opportunities.
*Briefly, here's what a Councillor does:*
*First*, they attend Board meetings. There is one in Spring about a month
before the membership meeting, and another in the Fall. These meetings take
less than two hours.
*Second*, they are tasked with helping set up the field trips for the
spring and fall meetings. This means researching the location and where
previous KOS meeting field trips have occurred, and getting trip leaders
committed to them. These twice-per-year efforts don't take very long, and
the VP typically leads the effort.
*Finally*, they are asked to help on committees where they might help with
particular issues (not required). These require a small amount of time, but
are certainly appreciated for the new ideas that Councillors bring to the
table.
