Our top hummer attractor is a mature Mimosa Tree visible from our morning
coffee patio spot. It is full of hummers and butterflies all day and especially
in the afternoon.
The Mimosa produces a lot of seed which all seem to sprout, which is a problem
in the flower beds, but we are going to transplant many to our 4 acre wildlife
field and let them go.
Zinnias and sunflowers, which we have hundreds of each also are wonders for the
same.
The Mimosa can have 15 plus hummers at the same time, which is a small #
compared to the hummers at the Nature Station at LBL.
Observed a Great Horn Owl in the edge of the woods behind our garden yesterday
morning.
