Has anyone else seen Gadwalls or Shovelers at the Reservoirs? I don't usually do reports, but I would like to know if other birders have seen these, too. Two pairs of Northern Shovelers were in the cove area by the golf course entrance. That was on last Saturday, the 8th, our first time ever to visit the Reservoirs. We returned Tuesday the 11th to finish our touring, and near the playground at Jacobsen Park we got a very close look at a male and female Gadwall. We did also get to see the Red-Necked Grebe (3). There were two Scaups in the distance. I couldn't say if they were Lesser or Greater. At the Causeway (Lakeshore Drive) we met another birder and she pointed out more R-N Grebes and at least one pair of Hooded Mergansers. The wind was picking up and the other ducks were too far away to identify, so we all left. ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============= When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
