Winds in excess of 20 mph kept Melissa and I from running our BBS surveys
this morning. We went to an alternate plan and birded around Fulton county.
Highlights were:
Open Pond area
American White Pelican - 51
Bald Eagle - 1 adult
Ruddy Duck - 1
Black Necked Stilt - 6, some on nests
White-rumped Sandpiper - 2
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 20
Forster's Tern - 1
Least Tern - 10
Lake #9
DC Cormorant
Hooded Merganser - 1 female & 7 young
Bald Eagle - 1 adult and 2 juvenile learning to fish
Least Tern - 10
Long Point
Mississippi Kite - 2
Great Egrets, Great Blues and Dickcissel were plentiful at all locations.
