There is still too much water covering the fields and wet spots in Fulton
County. The Obion and Mississippi Rivers are high.
I heard a singing Bell’s vireo along Running slough Road. Unfortunately while I
was trying to tape his call the rain and wind picked up.
Peeps were plentiful in the flooded field along the levee. Yellowlegs and
pectoral numbers have dwindled while semipalmated plovers and sandpiper numbers
have increased along with white-rumped sandpipers.
Bobolinks are busy chattering all along the levee and surrounding fields.
