I'm headed out to Melco this morning; not going to be there a long time; want
to try to confirm the "Mottled Duck" is still there and just check for
different shorebirds. I can only be counted on to be there 1000 to 1100.
Jamie Baker and James Wheat will be there after rush hour this evening. I'd say
gate should be open by 600pm. The Fern Valley overpass over I-65 is being
resurfaced, and it has created quite a bit of congestion during the day. It has
not been too bad after rush hour is over in the evening.
James Wheat received a reply from a reviewer of photos of the "Mottled Duck"
and he does not believe it is a "good" Mottled. Shows signs of hybridization
with Mallard.
Soooo ... it is very possible this bird will be left unidentified.
