Things changed pretty significantly this week with singing birds (flowers,
butterflies, bees, and mushrooms too). I've been hearing lots of blue-headed
vireos, meadowlarks, phoebes, pine warblers, field sparrows, chipping sparrows,
mocking birds, and the rest of the usual early singers for weeks now. But this
week I heard my FOS singing brown thrasher, Louisiana waterthrush,
black-and-white warbler, yellow-throated warbler, eastern towhee, as well as
some unknown warblers I don't have my ears tuned in for yet. And last night I
heard 2 whip-poor-wills singing in northern Rowan county.
