[birdky] Blue Jay numbers

Since I began the chatter on Blue Jays, I should share some of the results
from various birders who have replied, most just to me rather than to the
listserve. It's really weird, but almost everyone says they think they are
low or absent EXCEPT about a half dozen folks from around Lexington and
points north and east. There have been a few exceptions in southern and
western Kentucky. The feeder birds are always difficult to judge, of course,
because they are present at least in part due to the feed being put out for
them. Anyway, preliminary responses seem to suggest that in the northeastern
quarter or so of the state they may be present in normal numbers. The CBC
data should be really interesting to look at. If you look at the maximum
counts listed in the update of the Annotated Checklist, you will see that
there are some pretty impressive count totals to compare this year to.
