Hip, Hip, hooray or second times a charm. Joe Tom Erwin, Wendell Webb and I went in seach of the Painted Bunting this afternoon. We did find the bird in the plowed field first then in the underbrush and snarled branches adjacent to the field. We heard it calling while walking in the field. A Mississippi Kite was sitting next to it's nest site at Long Point and we saw another kite near the platform. Good birding!
