I checked historical fall records (2000-2022) for Minor Clark vs. Falls of
the Ohio and Minor Clark beat out about 30/20 so I decided to try there.
Got to the location at about 10:30 this morning and almost immediately
found three plover, soon joined by a fourth. Other shorebirds were about 80
Killdeer, 3 Spotted Sandpiper and one Lesser Yellowlegs. I also found 9
warbler species from one vantage point, most notably Wilson’s. I saw a
Little Blue Heron for about 30 seconds before it flew over the tree line,
and I had a count of 25 Great Egret. This was an excellent introduction for
me to the fish hatchery, which I had never visited before.
