Well, there are just two very small holes in the ice where ducks and geese
splash around… otherwise the entire lake is frozen over. Many of the
waterfowl’s feathers looked to be crystalized after sleeping on the ice
overnight and they glistened in the sun. I found a Snow Goose blue morph and a
Cackling Goose, both lifers, and attempted to take photos but the atmospheric
waves and my frozen hands were no help! I am determined to take down my tree
today… been too preoccupied with birding! Happy New Year everyone!
