KY-Birders: The following is a forward message from Georgia Bird list. Let's go birding..... Wallace Coffey Bristol, TN --------------------------------BEGIN FORWARD------------------------------------- All 8 of the juvenile Whooping Cranes (Ultracranes) are resting comfortably in a remote area in southwest Ohio. Even the one that struck the power line when flushed from the river, appears to be no worse for the wear. Richard Urbanek, the US Fish & Wildlife officer tracking them, reported that they are safe and well away from the public. Maybe the young birds got "educated" and are going to be a little more discriminating when picking their stop-over sites. I want to thank Janna & Kelly Sanders of Franklin, NC, for their hospitality and all their efforts in trying to keep people from bothering the cranes. They have the honor of being the first to see a Whooping Crane on North Carolina soil in more than 100 years!
