Early morning hike of the Cold Spring/Laurel Branch/Laurel Lake...Common Raven,
Crows, Blue Jays, T Titmouse, & 1 Pied-b Grebe. 1st bird out of the truck was
the Raven- should have known the Ravens would beat the Titans right then! The
beaver Pond & Deer Trail area were much more productive...both Kinglets, Hermit
Thrush, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Pine Siskin, Am. Goldfinch, Red-sh Hawk,
(Pileated, Red-bellied, Hairy, Downy Woodpeckers), N Flicker, Purple Finch, &
Robins. A handsome young "button" buck showed himself along the Deer Trail
(good name, huh?) while Carolina Wrens and Carolina Chickadees scolded from the
rocks. Dave Raines/Breaks
P.S. The Long-billed Curlew was still present on 1/11 & 4 Common Grackles
showed up at our feeders(Fos) 1/11
