Twenty birders converged on Burkes Garden on Saturday, February 18 for the
Buchanan County Bird Club's annual trip to the highest valley in Virginia.
The weather was wonderful with warm sun and temperatures getting into the
mid 50's. A delicious lunch of homemade chicken noodle soup and sandwiches
was enjoyed by everyone.
The group counted 45 species for the day. Both Golden and Bald Eagles were
found as well as a Rough-legged Hawk.
