I wish I had a lesson plan to send you, but I simply share my computer on
the smart board during library class to show them how to do it and then
they have access to the OPAC before and after school, at recess, and during
library class. I laminated log in instructions next to the 2 computers on
my desk. I start this in Kindergarten. They are responsible for checking
out their own books and searching, although I will help them of course if
they need it. :)

I have been teaching this skill with 2nd graders at the end of the year
because I find some of the concepts of spelling, searching for call
numbers, etc., is easier for 3rd graders.
Do any of you begin OPAC catalog lessons in 2nd grade? If so, do you have
a lesson I can view for very young children. I am trying to plan a lesson
and pair them up on the computers to search for books in the library.
