Dear Colleagues,
This question is directed to Lower School Librarians. When do you begin
teaching your youngest students how to use the online library catalog?
I have been teaching this skill with 2nd graders at the end of the year
because I find some of the concepts of spelling, searching for call
numbers, etc., is easier for 3rd graders.
Do any of you begin OPAC catalog lessons in 2nd grade? If so, do you have a
lesson I can view for very young children. I am trying to plan a lesson and
pair them up on the computers to search for books in the library.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Debra Cardone, Librarian
